ABOUT US

The Wine Corner is a family-owned Maui business owned and operated by Gregory Brown and Susun White who have been a couple since 1985. They have two very talented children, Soleil and Gaia.

Susun White has served as executive director for the Paia Youth & Cultural Center (PYCC) since 1993. In 1999, John Berg, a past board member of the youth center, sold The Wine Corner in Paia to Gregory and Susun when he retired.

They expanded the wine selection, and in 2006 relocated the store to the new building where the old Paia General Store used to be. The Paia store was built to their own design and won the Paia Main Street award in 2007 for best interior design. The Wine Corner in Paia has the legacy of being in operation as a wine/liquor store for over 65 years and is loved by locals and tourists alike.

In May 2009 when Mr. Wine in Lahaina went out of business, they opened The Wine Corner West in his old location at Wainee St and Lahainaluna Rd. Unfortunately, this branch fell victim to the recession and closed in late 2010.

In addition to the finest selection of wines and specialty beers on Maui, The Wine Corner also carries items that pertain to fine wines, such as glassware, cork screws, and cigars. During the holiday season, a variety of gift baskets is available.

Gregory is currently building a wine tasting bar that will be opening in the fall of 2011, so look forward to some delectable evenings ahead in Paia.
